Morning sickness can really overshadow a pregnancy in the early stages. A pregnant woman having to constantly remind herself of the end result - bouncing bundle of joy - whilst heaving in the toilet, is as common as 75%. That's a lot of women looking for a Remedy for Morning Sickness. The cause of Morning sickness has not yet been confirmed, but there are a few theories.
Probably the most common one that people have heard of is the increase in hormones in the first trimester. The hormone HCG reaches its peak between weeks 8 and 11 of the pregnancy.
For a large number of pregnant women eating something can improve that 'wave' of nausea. A lack of energy / food can produce nausea. In the early stages of pregnancy, the metabolism goes up by as much as 20%. Therefore, the food that is eaten is burnt through more rapidly. When a woman wakes and is immediately hit by the urge to run and throw up, this may be because she has not eaten all night which will mean their blood sugar level is low.
In the early stages of pregnancy a woman will only be able to tolerate food that she fancies at that time. The smell or odour of certain foods that were enjoyed a month ago could now be enough to turn her stomach. Even the smell of toast (a food with little smell) could start those horrible 'waves' coming. A common food not to be tolerated in early pregnancy is strong smelling meat. The smell of garlic on someone can be really hard to manage.
