3 Easy Ways to Speed Up Your PC Without Upgrading

So you really want to speed up your PC's performance but you haven't got a clue about PCs eh? Well don't worry. By just doing following these quick and easy tips, you should notice a sudden difference in how your computer performs speed-wise.

So here they are, 3 easy ways to speed up your PC
1. Check your hard disk for potential errors
In Windows, you can use a Error-checking program to check for any errors on your hard disk, including file bad sectors and system errors.
To run your Error-checking program:
1.Go to Start, click on My Computer, then right-click the local disk that you want to check (normally it's drive C).
2. Click on Properties then click Tools tab.
3.Under the Error-checking section, click the Check Now button.... Just make sure you tick both boxes first, then once your done, click Start.

2. Don't use a program anymore? Then delete it
! Over the years, you or other family members who also use your PC may install programs on your PC. And these new programs are what you're wanting constantly so therefore you use them all the time. But other times, there are other programs that you don't use as much as you wish and you start to use these programs less and less until you totally forget about them altogether. However, Even so your not using these programs anymore, they still take up precious system resources that sap your PC's performance.
To delete these unwanted programs programs, Just:
1. Go to Start, then to the Category View and click Control Panel.
2. Then click on Add or Remove Programs, and click Remove Programs to delete that particular program.
3. Scroll through the list and see each program. Windows shows you how often you use a program and what was the last day you last started it. Please note: Do not remove anything that is labeled "Hotfix" or "Update." These programs improve the security of your PC and could actually hinder PC performance.
4. Click each program you no longer want, click Change/Remove, then follow the instructions to uninstall that particular program.

3. Defragging your PC
You may of notice that your PC, after deleting some of the unwanted programs is still slow. So what you need to do is defrag your computer.
To defrag your PC:
1. Click Start, point to All Programs, go to Accessories, then to System Tools, and then click Disk Defragmenter.
2. Click "Analyze" to startup your Disk Defragmenter.
3. In the Disk Defragger dialog window, click the drives that you want to defrag, then click on the Analyze button. After the hard-disk is analyzed, a dialog box will appear, letting you know whether you should defrag the analyzed hardrives.
Tip: You should always analyze a volume first before defragmenting it to get a rough estimate of how long the defragmentation process is going to take.
4. To defrag the selected drive, first click the Defragment button. Please note: In Vista, there is no graphical user interface to show you the progress-but I guarantee your hard drive is still being defragged.

After you've defrag your PC, the Disk Defragmenter will displays the results.
Tip: Sometimes it pays to defrag your PC more than once to take sure it does a thorough job.
