How to get thick, shiny Hair

There are so many products on the market, that all tell us what they can do for our hair. The thing is not all these products give us what they promise. We all dream of having a full shiny hair, but this is not a dream, you can indeed have it all. Below are the secrets to a think, full and bouncing shiny hair.

(1) Avoid Brushing
When you brush your hair daily it can put stress on your hair if you are not using the right hair brush. Throw away all the plastic brushes that you use, as they do more harm than good. Look for brushes with a boar bristle as it helps to redistribute oils throughout hair, and is less likely to break your hair.

Try to avoid brushing, but if you must brush Mason Pearson Sensitive Boar Bristle Brush is a good brush to use

(2) Alcohol based products
Products that contained a lot of alcohol tend to dry out the hair, as it robs the hair of its natural shine. When you wash your hair instead of using mousse try a cream or serum instead, as most mousse contains alcohol. Try Aveda products as they do not contain alcohol.

(3) Too much washing
When you wash your hair daily you tend to wash away your natural oils. Recommend washing your hair 3 times per week. Skipping shampoo helps hair retain shine but can also leave it limp.

Also when you wash your hair always rinse with cold water, as the water helps to close the cuticle, making hair and scalp smooth and shiny

(4) Blow drying
If you have time air dry your hair a little before you blow dry it. Try blow drying on low heat or use the cold air setting. This will help to maintain moisture in the hair, making it less dry.

Try to invest in a really good hair dryer such as T3 Bespoke Labs Evolution Dryer. This ionic ceramic dryer maintain constant heat which pump the hair cuticle to smooth out negative ions, leaving tress shiny and full. Traditional blow dryer tend make hair frizzy and dry

(5) Frizz
Our hair tends to get frizzy in humid climate, because of how porous the hair is. Always make sure your hair is properly dry before you go through the door.

Use product with silicone such as John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum. This helps the hair shaft cuticle to seal. This product will also protect the hair from friction and heat damage.

Make sure to use silicone in moderation as too much will make the hair goes flat and look greasy.

(6) Volume
Using product high in protein adds volume and body to the hair. Here is a little trick I use. I use a small egg, mix together with my favorite shampoo (this takes away the rawness smell of the egg). I wash my hair with it once a week. Too much protein can over dry the hair, so if you are using the egg, only shampoo once per week.

If you do not want to try the egg, then Ojon Hydrating Thickening Shampoo is a good product for you. Again, shampoo with caution, as using too much protein can make hair dry.
